Essentially, an individual with a high sense of coherence perceives his or her environment as structured, manageable, and meaningful. Antonovsky’s contention, supported by subsequent research, is that individuals with a high sense of coherence will have better medical outcomes than individuals with a lower sense of comes to see the world as one that makes sense; or in terms of information theory, one that provides information rather than noise.
